15 workers injured at a factory explosion in Haripur

HARIPUR – Fifteen workers from a private steel mill suffered burn injuries on Wednesday due to an explosion in the factory’s furnace unit in Haripur, according to sources.

Eight of the 15 workers of Mustehkam Steel Mill have received serious injuries, the police are currently leading rescue activities as the situation unfolds.

According to the police, the eyes of some victims have also been affected in the explosion.

Police have started moving the victims to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Wah Cantt, due to the fact that there are no burn units in the Hazara division.

Causes of the explosion remain unknown, more updates are emerging are the rescue operations progress.
