At least 37 held for questioning in Lahore following joint operation

LAHORE: At least 37 people who are suspected of involvement in criminal activities were arrested late Monday, after police and Rangers carried out a joint search operation in the city’s Naulakha ‘Landa’ Bazaar area.

Law enforcement agencies checked the details and documents of the arrested through Android biometric verification systems and stated that they would be detained until they are done with further investigations.

The security agencies also conducted door-to-door searches in shops, hotels and the nearby residences, verifying upto 620 people during the whole process.

Reportedly one case was registered against an individual due to violation of Temporary Residents Act.
