Dolphins in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: Regional Police Officer Sultan Azam Taimori said the Dolphin Force has been made functional in Gujranwala to protect the citizens, and the force would lead to a decrease in crime figures in the city.

He was addressing a ceremony held to inaugurate the deployment of Dolphin Force in Gujranwala. City Police Officer Ashfaq Khan, SSP Operations Imran Yaqoob, parliamentarians, Mayor Gujranwala, president and vice presidents of Gujranwala Chamber Of Commerce and Industry were also present at the occasion. The RPO said Dolphin Force was comprised of 129 highly trained police officers, equipped with 60 sports bikes and modern weapons. The CPO, in his address, said the purpose of deploying Dolphin Force was to create a sense of protection and peace among the citizens.

He said Dolphin Force had been directed to deal with all citizens in a polite manner. Later on, the newly deployed force took a tour of the city on their bikes. 3 die of cylinder blast injuries: Three members of a family, injured in a cylinder blast last week, succumbed to their injuries in a hospital. It was said that four members of a family were injured when a gas cylinder in their kitchen exploded around 3 days ago. The injured were transported to a hospital, of which 3 did not survive and condition of the 4th remains critical.
