LAHORE: The Blood Donor Society (BDS) of the Punjab University College of Information Technology (PUCIT) organised a blood registration camp for donors at the college premises, followed by a seminar to spread awareness about the importance of blood donation.
The event was organised in commemoration of the upcoming World Blood Donor Day. The camp provided an opportunity to students, staff, and faculty to have their blood groups identified and encouraged them to register as blood donors. At the camp, more than 400 donors got registered with the BDS. The BDS has been functional for the last two years under the supervision of Dr Waheed Iqbal and has helped arrange blood for 147 patients. Currently, 23 student volunteers are managing and running the society purely for humanitarian cause.
