Deviation from objectives

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has rightly stated that the state had deviated from it’s objectives and priorities and that corruption had become entrenched in Pakistani society.

According to reports, the CM said this when a delegation of students from Balochistan Residential College, Khuzdar called on him in Lahore recently. He emphatically stated that there is a dire need to overcome challenges regarding the provision of basic services to the people, including healthcare and education. He said that been any dearth of resources in the country but the state had been lacking in commitment, hard work and passion.

The CM regretfully pointed out that resources have never been provided for the development of Balochistan and that all previous governments had neglected the province. He said that it is a matter of great concern that the textile exports of Bangladesh are greater than the total exports of Pakistan.

The CM distributed laptops to the students who visited him and also announced the provision of a new bus along with construction of residences and a state-of-the-art laboratory at the college.

The students thanked the chief minister for his hospitality and said that they are very happy and enjoying their visit to Punjab province.

This inter-province exchange of students as well as teachers is very commendable and should be continued with greater frequency as this will greatly help in promoting much needed inter-provincial harmony and brotherhood. I hope they will continue in the future.
