A Qatari investment delegation is set to visit Pakistan right after Eid, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office. The announcement came after a phone call between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The two leaders discussed strengthening trade and investment relations between the two countries.
During the call, both leaders emphasized their shared goal of enhancing bilateral ties, particularly in trade and investment. They agreed that the visit would focus on advancing discussions on potential investments. Qatar had previously pledged a $3 billion investment in various sectors of Pakistan, which further solidifies the cooperation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his gratitude to the Emir of Qatar and Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa for hosting the Manzar cultural exhibition last October in Doha. The prime minister proposed holding a similar exhibition in Lahore, which was warmly accepted by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
In addition, the two leaders discussed regional issues, with PM Shehbaz commending Qatar’s diplomatic role in peace efforts, especially in Gaza. He also extended an invitation for the Amir of Qatar to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
