RAWALPINDI: A decision has been taken that property tax defaulters would not be given relaxation during the month Ramazan as the ongoing operation against tax defaulters will continue with full force.
The Rawalpindi Excise and Taxation department has directed the officials that in order to achieve the set target, sealing of properties would continue during the month of Ramazan in Rawalpindi.
Every possible initiatives including issuance of arrest warrant should be taken to fulfil the target set till June.
Sources informed that Secretary and DG Excise had directed the officials to limit their actions till notices against the property tax defaulters in the past years in Ramazan, however, now this time operation would be carried with full force.
When ETO property Raiz Qureshi was contacted, he said that recovery would be done under any circumstance during the Ramazan month from the five Marla land tax defaulters of 2004 year, while fine would also be imposed.
Arrest Warrants would also be issued of the tax defaulter after finishing of economic fiscal year, who will fail to pay tax after their properties are sealed.
