‘Economy in fragile state due to corruption’

Author: By Our Correspondent

LARKANA: Economy of the country is in a fragile state due to rulers’ looting of exchequer and corruption in state institutions, said Sindh National Front (SNF) Vice Chairman Ameer Bakhsh Bhutto.

Addressing party members and workers of Jacobabad and Shikarpur districts, he said state institutions had become ineffective in lessening economic miseries of the masses. The corrupt practices and embezzlement of national wealth in billions by corrupt rulers had destroyed the fibre of economy badly, he added. Former elected prime minister was caught in misappropriation of national money; the court had disqualified him (Nawaz Sharif) from holding office because of his lies, he said.

Ameer said the state of affairs in Sindh was even worse as “Asif Zardari and his henchmen have looted billions of rupees and later he managed to save his skin by National Reconciliation Order”. Corruption by Zardari is far worse than Nawaz Sharif and recent confessions by Uzair Baloch and Dr Asim attest to that, he said. He questioned, “What is the benefit of democratic system under corrupt and disqualified rulers”?
