LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the residence of Capt Hasnain Nawaz in Nankana Sahib who embraced martyred in Kurram Agency.

He met the parents and other family members of Hasnain Nawaz and paid tribute to his gallantry. He expressed heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul. He paid rich tribute to the great sacrifice of Capt Hasnain Nawaz and said that he gave sacrifice for a noble cause.

While talking to the parents, the chief minister said that their son was a great Pakistani who sacrificed his life for the country and “we are proud of his immortal sacrifice”. “You are the great parents and your son has been blessed with martyrdom,” he added. “In fact, Capt Hasnain Nawaz Shaheed is a hero of the whole nation and the nation is proud of its sons like Capt Hasnain Nawaz Shaheed who has sacrificed his life for Pakistan. The soil of this country just cannot forget the great sacrifice of Capt Hasnain Nawaz Shaheed who has rendered his life for Pakistan and we all pay tributes to him. The martyrs never die and Capt Hasnain Nawaz Shaheed is alive too, who will always be enlivened in the hearts of the nation.”

He said martyrs were a crown of our heads and their great sacrifices would always be remembered in the history. “The sacrifices of the martyrs will bear fruit and Pakistan will emerge as a harbinger of peace.”

The Chief Minister announced to name the Postgraduate College Nankana Sahib after Capt Hasnain Nawaz Shaheed and said that a newly developed park will also be named for Capt Hasnain Nawaz in Nankana Sahib. He announced to name Railway Road Nankana Sahib after Capt Hasnain Nawaz Shaheed. He also announced to give employment to a brother of Capt Hasnain Shaheed and said that all the educational expenses of another brother will also be borne out by the Punjab government till he wants to continue his studies. The chief minister also consoled with the widow and expressed love and affection with the little child.

Separately, Shehbaz Sharif said the politics based on concocted allegations and deceit has not been succeeded in the past, nor will it be successful in future. The 210 million people of Pakistan have fully recognised the elements making world records of u-turn at every occasion. The precious time of the nation was wasted through sit-ins without any reason. Had the sit-in group realised facts, many energy projects would have been completed today. He said the elements intending to impede the journey of development of the people have been politically isolated as the nation has realised that who is serving them and who is the opponent of their development. He said the group fond of sit-in and lock-down should change its negative behaviour after its defeat on every front, because change could not be materialized through slogans or speeches, but is ensured through practical steps. The people of Pakistan cannot be deceived through hollow slogans, he added. He said the government of Pakistan Muslim League-N has selflessly served the people and the politics of PML-N has its foundations based on service, honesty, trust, and transparency and it will be succeeded in the next elections. He advised the elected representatives to leave no stone unturned for solving the problems of the people.

He expressed these views while talking to members of the assembly who called on him on Tuesday. The MNAs who met with the chief minister included Ch Khadim Hussain, Malik Shakir Bashir Awan and Sahibzada Faizul Hassan.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz Sharif condoled the death of Rumi Insha, son of a famous poet, writer, and columnist Ibne Insha. In his condolence message, he extended sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in peace.

Separately, Shahid Khan Afridi, the head of Shahid Afridi Foundation, called on Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. On the occasion, the chief minister gave away a cheque of Rs 50 million to the Shahid Afridi Foundation from the Punjab government. He stressed the need for adopting collective efforts to improve health, education and other social sectors and said that Punjab government has taken numerous steps to bring further improvements in these sectors. He said the private sector should also come forward to ensure the provision of improved facilities to the people and added that government will fully encourage the private sector.
