Family of abducted girl demand safe recovery

UMERKTO: Heirs of allegedly abducted Naseeban Bheel staged protest demonstration on second consecutive day for her recovery and arrest of nominated accused.

Protestors led by Narsoo Bheel, Bhugro, Raichand and others marching from Super Shaheen Petrol Pump to local press club staged sit-in at Allah Wala Chowk. Carrying placards they said police under political pressure has been bent upon to save culprits and failed to take action to recover abducted woman.

In the wake of the incident district Peace Group Umerkot convened an emergent meeting which was attended by lawyers, journalists, religious scholars, writers, female activists at Sami foundation office.

Mir Hassan Arisar peace activist observed that Hindus and Muslim both have been living in district in peaceful and coexistence environment since decades and had been attending their marriages and religious festivities beyond religious segregation. But some vested interest for their political and monetary benefits aspiring wanted to destroy peace and pluralism of district.

Adding that whenever any incident of crime is happened, police fails to play its role on emergent basis, while crime is not taken as crime, but it integrate with Hindu and Muslim clash and attempted to create tense just to meet political interests. Playing politics on the basis of religion is like touching fire he commented.

Abdullah Khoso said that earlier Halepoto girl gone with Bheel boy, who returned with intervention of notables. Later some people of Halepoto community allegedly abducted married Naseeban Bheel in revenge of Halepoto girl. This led to protests in city and wave of tense prevailed.

Hakim Chanhyoon Chairman UC Kaplore said that it was a conspiracy to throw peace of Umerkot in fire of violence and differences.

This was a matter between persons and it need to be treated accordingly. Fake and baseless allegations tease sentiments of entire society, he added.

Mumtaz Arisar a local journalist said civil society need to feel its risks and threats, adding that some political elements for their vested interests use people to target other party or community which will not benefit any one he concerned.

Abdul Haleem Soomro said that media playspivotal role to cool down such issues, precautions are more important in reporting such issues.

Social media should be used y as it has open platform without binding.

Allah Dino Mangrio said Hindu girls were their daughters. When Halepoto girl abducted, they did not infuriated situation but resolve it through intervention of notables.

Women activist Rasheeda Sand was of the view that police should be made political free.
