RAWALPINDI: The district administration has imposed a ban on the use of fireworks, firecrackers and aerial firing on Shab-e-Barat in Rawalpindi division.
A ban has also been imposed on the sale of fireworks. Cases will also be lodged against people violating the ban. The authorities have been directed to start a crackdown against anyone involved in smuggling or selling fireworks.
According to police, an operation has been launched against dealers involved in the business of fireworks and firecrackers.
Meanwhile, the district administration has directed police to make arrangements for ensuring security for mosques and other religious places during Shab-e-Barat. Police have been directed to depute extra personnel in markets and outside mosques where gatherings will be held on Shab-e-Barat. The police were ordered to take effective steps for the security of graveyards and shrines as well. All SHOs have also been directed to increase patrolling and random checking in their respected areas.
