All-rounder Imad Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket on Friday, while vowing to continue playing in domestic and franchise cricket.

In a message to his fans and supporters, Imad Wasim reflected on his career and expressed his gratitude for representing Pakistan on the global stage.

“After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been the greatest honor of my life, and every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable,” Wasim said in a post on Instagram.

The 35-year-old cricketer thanked his fans for their unwavering support throughout his career. “Your love, support, and passion have always been my biggest strength. From the highs to the lows, your encouragement has pushed me to give my best for our beloved country,” he added. Although Wasim is stepping away from international cricket, he confirmed that he will remain active in the sport through domestic and franchise leagues. “While this chapter comes to an end, I look forward to continuing my journey in cricket through domestic and franchise cricket, and I hope to keep entertaining you all in new ways,” he said.

Imad Wasim concluded his message by expressing his gratitude to the people of Pakistan. “Thank you for everything. Pakistan,” he said.

Previously, Imad Wasim announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2023 but made a U-turn after a brilliant Pakistan Super League (PSL) season and declared his availability for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

He represented Pakistan in 75 T20Is and 55 ODIs. He scored a total of 1540 runs across three formats, including six half-centuries while picking up 117 wickets.
