The Sindh Social Welfare Department (SWD) in Collaboration with NADRA has launched Senior Citizen Card (SCC) under which several services will be provided to the senior citizens of Sindh.
Addressing the signing ceremony of the agreement between the Social Welfare Department Sindh and NADRA, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Mir Tariq Ali Khan Talpur said, Sindh is the first province in Pakistan to launch a special card for senior citizens.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to the dignity and well-being of this important segment of society. The card, which was earlier known as the Azadi Card, has been reintroduced by the Sindh government as part of its initiatives related to the welfare of senior citizens. This initiative will benefit more than 3.7 million senior citizens of Sindh, who will be provided with better access to various services, including health and travel facilities.”
The ceremony was also attended by Secretary of the Social Welfare Department Pervaiz Ahmed Sehar, Director General of the Social Welfare Department Athar Hussain Mirani.
