Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Sardar Fazal Baloch, has approved the establishment of a new school in Ooch, a remote area of the province, following a viral video message from a young girl.
The girl, identified as Meer Zadi, had posted a video message on social media, appealing to the Chief Minister for a school to be built in her area, Express News reported. The video quickly went viral, catching the attention of the provincial authorities.
Reacting to the widespread response, Chief Minister Sardar Fazal Baloch took immediate action, directing the relevant departments to initiate the process for establishing a girls’ school in Ooch.
In a statement, the spokesperson for the Balochistan government, Shahid Randh, confirmed the approval of the project.
“The Education Department has already begun working on the necessary procedures to commence the educational project in Ooch,” Randh said.
The decision to build a school in the area is expected to improve educational opportunities for girls, who have limited access to formal schooling in the region.
Ooch, known for its underdeveloped infrastructure, will see its first girls’ school thanks to the viral appeal of Meer Zadi.
