Demonstrators protest for upgradation of posts

SHIKARPUR: All Sindh Treasury Welfare Society District Shikarpur held a demonstrating in front of the District Accounts Office Shikarpur. The demonstrators asked for the upgradation of the posts of data processing assistant and sub-accountant. The protesters also asked for the restoration of treasury allowance, deceased’s son quota and restoration of service structure and time scale for the welfare of treasury employees. Protesters said that the treasury allowance was sanctioned in 2003, but they were still waiting for its implementation.

Protest against poor cleanliness: Workers of Qaumi Awami Tehreek organised a protest against the poor state of cleanliness in the city. The protesters marched through various routes and culminated at Lakhi Dar Ghantaghar Chowk. The protesters alleged that Municipal Committee Shikarpur had completely failed to achieve its target of cleaning the city and as a result of its poor policies, city roads had submerged under drain water. They said that elected representatives had been playing the role of silent spectators and demanded the government to take notice of the poor state of cleanliness in the city.
