KARACHI: A man axed his wife to death after an altercation in the Baldia Town neighbourhood on Tuesday.
Police, however, have arrested the victim’s husband and initiated investigation. According to details, 40-year-old Shamim Bibi, mother to nine children, was allegedly killed by her husband Muhammad Buksh, who works as a builder.
SHO Ghaffar Korai said that deceased was the mother to seven children. The police officer said the two used to quarrel with each other time and again. On the day of incident, the victim’s husband axed her to death. He added that the accused also used a hammer to kill her wife.
Police shifted the body to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
Police have registered a case while further investigation was underway.
In a separate incident, a young girl was found dead in an underground water tank inside her house in Macchar Colony within the limits of Docks Police Station. The deceased was later identified as 15-year-old Rahima, daughter of Fazal Kareem.
Police officials said that the victim was alone at her house at the time of incident occurred, adding that her mouth and hands were tied with the scarf, which suggested that the victim was murdered.
Her body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
