KHYBER AGENCY: Khasadar force foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics from Afghanistan to Pakistan by seizing 15 kg of hashish from two, at Torkham border on Wednesday.

Political Naib Tehsildar Shams-ur-Rehman said that the Khasadar force, while performing their routine inspections, stopped two Peshawar bound Afghan nationals. During the search, 15 kg hashish was found hidden under their luggage.

The two Afghan nationals, identified as Naqibullah and Gul Agha, were arrested and sent to Landi Kotal lockup for further investigation, the official added.

Meanwhile, six Afghan citizens were apprehended at Torkham border. The six arrested were crossing the border into Pakistan without legal travelling documents.

Afghan delegation visits Khyber Agency: A 14-member delegation of Afghan elders and Ulemas paid a visit to Landi Kotal on Wednesday where they met with the tribal jirga in the residency of Assistant Political Agent (APA) and discussed matters of mutual interest.

The Afghan delegation headed by Maulvi Sher Muhammad comprised of: Maulvi Inayat-ur-Rehman, Maulvi Masoom, Ahmad Shah, Maulvi Muhammad Saeed, Lal Khan, Qari Ihsan and others. The delegation was taken to Landi Kotal cantonment where they were greeted by Pakistan’s tribal elders including Malik Darya Khan Afridi, Malik Nadir Khan, Malik Abdul Haleem, Malik Mehmood, Malik Abdurrazaq and others. The elders exchanged views pertaining to the relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Representatives of both countries agreed to continue their meetings and play their due role to remove any misunderstandings between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The participants of the meeting said that such meetings would certainly enhance relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan and also boost trade. “Initiating of the exchange of delegation visits is a must if we want to remove trust deficit between the two neighbours”, Afridi argued.
