Bryan Adams recalls meeting Priyanka Chopra, enjoying daal chawal in India

Bryan Adams is set to bring his ‘So Happy It Hurts’ world tour to India and is excited to create new memories in the country.

Reflecting on his past visits, the Canadian singer shared his fond memories, including a memorable encounter with Priyanka Chopra backstage. In an interview with India Today, Bryan reminisced about his experiences in India and the moments that continue to hold a special place in his heart, such as enjoying a simple meal of daal chawal.

“Meeting Priyanka Chopra and the Kapoor family backstage is a standout memory. We had a wonderful conversation about music and life. And yes, I did indulge in Indian food – I absolutely love daal,” he said.

Bryan also mentioned his conversations with Punjabi rappers and expressed his admiration for composer Pritam. “I’ve had fascinating conversations with Punjabi rappers and admire Pritam’s work. The idea of blending rock with Indian music excites me – it’s a fusion that has immense potential.”

Regarding his upcoming tour in India, Bryan said he has customized his setlist to match the energy of each city, “making every performance fresh and aligning it with the audience’s vibe”. He expressed excitement about the growing concert culture in India with “more diverse and enthusiastic crowd coming together for music”.

The ‘So Happy It Hurts’ tour will kick off in Shillong on December 10 and will make stops in Gurugram (December 12), Mumbai (December 13), Bengaluru (December 14), and wrap up in Hyderabad on December 16. Bryan Adams, known for iconic hits like “Summer of ’69”, “Everything I Do I Do It For You”, “Please Forgive Me”, and “18 Till I Die”, will be arriving in India a few days before the tour for a “comprehensive technical rehearsal”.

Bryan will be traveling with a dedicated crew of 50 members, and a charter plane will be used to transport his equipment, which weighs over 10,000kg. Courtesy india today.
