In a dramatic turn of events, top leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reached Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail to meet the party’s incarcerated founder, Imran Khan. As per sources, the visit comes amidst an intensifying political showdown, with party convoys inching closer to Islamabad in a show of defiance and solidarity.
The delegation, led by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser on Information Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif, marks a critical moment in the party’s escalating protest. Meanwhile, Bushra Bibi, the wife of the former prime minister, rallied party supporters near the Hazara Interchange. Addressing the crowd, she urged them to persevere in their march toward Islamabad until Khan’s release.
“This is bigger than my husband—it’s about the future of this nation and its leadership,” Bushra Bibi declared passionately. “I will stand for this cause till my last breath.”
Fresh Charges Against Imran Khan and Key PTI Figures
As the political tensions boil over, authorities have registered a new case against Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, Khan’s sister Aleema Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at Rawalpindi’s Dhamial police station.
The FIR, laden with anti-terrorism charges and 14 additional sections, names 200 individuals, including prominent PTI stalwarts such as President Arif Alvi, Asad Qaiser, Umar Ayub, and Hammad Azhar. The allegations range from blocking Chakri Road with burning tyres to raising incendiary slogans, pelting police with stones, and inciting unrest.
The FIR also claims Aleema Khan delivered a protest message on behalf of Imran Khan, mobilizing supporters to join the November 24 demonstration. According to the document, Bushra Bibi’s directives further aggravated the situation, leading to mass agitation and disruption of public order, despite Section 144 being imposed in the area.
With PTI supporters on the march and legal pressures mounting, the standoff between the party and the government continues to intensify, setting the stage for a critical chapter in Pakistan’s political saga.
