Siraj blames govt’s policies for joblessness, inflation

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq has said that confrontation between Pakistan and Afghanistan will only benefit India and the United States.

Addressing a gathering in Swat on Monday, the JI chief said that tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan were not in the interest of both countries, and they had no option except to have friendly relations.

“It was due to the policies of the government that the country was facing serious threats at ideological and geographical fronts,” he said, adding masses were suffering from unemployment, price hike and lawlessness due to failed government policies.

He pointed out that the offshore companies were owned by those who had been graduated from the modern educational institutions. “No religious scholar or a seminary student had been named in the Panama leaks,” he added.

Siraj said it was the time to rise against the western civilization, which wanted to “disgrace our respectable ladies in the name of freedom and women rights”. He said that the JI was endeavouring to establish an Islamic system in the country.
