Minister highlights Pakistan’s investment potential at COP29

Federal Minister for Communications, Privatization and Board of Investment, Abdul Aleem Khan highlighted Pakistan’s investment potential in key meetings with Turkish Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu and Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev at COP29 on Thursday.

Aleem Khan said meetings with Turkish and Azerbaijani ministers, focusing on strengthening ties in transport, infrastructure, and digital development. On the sidelines of the global forum, Aleem Khan met with Turkish Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu. Both ministers discussed enhancing the existing brotherly and trade relations between the two countries.

Aleem Khan highlighted the decades-long friendship between Turkiye and Pakistan and invited Turkish investment in various sectors. He also briefed Turkish minister on Pakistan’s ongoing communications projects, offering opportunities for Turkey’s participation.

In a separate meeting, Abdul Aleem Khan held discussions with Azerbaijani Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev. Both ministers appreciated the successful organization of COP29 and agreed on the need to strengthen relations between their countries.

Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the significant presence of the Pakistani community in Azerbaijan, involved in education, employment, and tourism, and expressed interest in G2G collaborations.

The Transport Ministers of Turkey and Azerbaijan in separate meetings appreciated the participation of the delegation from Pakistan led by Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan and assured them of full cooperation from their countries.

It is noteworthy that Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan led the Pakistani delegation at the COP29 Forum in Baku, Azerbaijan and attended the sessions of Transport and Digital Middle Corridor & Beyond while he also represented Pakistan in the Inter-Ministerial Round Table Conference.

Aleem Khan also called on Azerbaijani Energy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov while overall important projects related to investment and communication sector in Pakistan were discussed during this visit.
