Imran Khan gets bail in new Toshakhana case ahead of PTI Nov 24 protest

In a significant development ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest planned for November 24, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday granted bail to PTI founder Imran Khan in the new Toshakhana case.

Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb of the IHC approved Khan’s bail request, requiring him to submit two surety bonds of Rs1 million each from separate guarantors.

Following this ruling, Khan is no longer wanted in any other cases within Islamabad’s jurisdiction. However, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar has expressed doubts about the PTI leader’s immediate release, despite securing bail in the Toshakhana case.

“There is no chance of his release,” Tarar told Geo News on Wednesday. He emphasized that the state gifts case against Imran Khan is still ongoing in trial court, and there is substantial evidence against him. Additionally, Tarar pointed out that Khan has not been granted bail in any of the eight cases linked to the violent protests of May 9.
