LAHORE: Following the press conference of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Major General Asim Ghafoor on Saturday, Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal responded to the clarification offered by ISPR DG with optimism.

ISPR DG’s earlier remarks on Pakistan’s economy were met with criticism from the government and he held a press conference on Saturday to clarify his stance.

“We will play our part as and when required but whatever we do will be done by staying in our defined legal and constitutional limits,” Major General Asif Ghafoor said while addressing the press conference.

Following the press conference, Ahsan said that it is important for the civilian and military leadership to work together to portray a positive side of Pakistan to the world in order to gain its trust.

Ahsan also claimed that the country’s economy is stable and credited the “unity within the country” for economic stability. He further said that there is a need for disappointment to be converted into hope.
