Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has urged India to send its cricket team to Pakistan, suggesting that such initiative could help improve bilateral relations if tensions persist. Nawaz was speaking to the media in London alongside his daughter, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Referring to India’s decision not to send its team to the Champions Trophy, he reiterated that India should visit Pakistan for matches. “If relations are strained, they need to be improved. People want to see the Indian cricket team play in Pakistan,” he added. Nawaz also stressed the importance of fostering good relationships with other neighbouring countries. He expressed his view on the current state of relations between Pakistan and the United States, stating that both countries should work towards strengthening their ties. “Pakistan and the US should have good relations. In the past, our relations were strong, but there is a need for further improvement,” he said. Nawaz further condemned the recent attack on former CJP Qazi Faez Isa’s car in London, calling it a reflection of a growing culture of disrespect. “It’s unfortunate that this culture of incivility is being nurtured, and the opposition party in power has promoted this behaviour,” he said.
