CTD fails to trace culprits involved in attacking police personnel

KARACHI: The Counter-Terrrisim Department Sindh has completely failed to trace out the culprits involved in three brutal incidents of attacking police personals that have taken the lives of almost 10 officials during last three months despite being the most resourceful and equipped investigation department of Sindh police.

Officials and the personals of CTD are being paid extra incentives and concentration of high-ups of Sindh Government as compared to district police and they claim to be especially trained to fight and trace the suspects of banned terrorist organizations.

“All the information that the CTD officials have till now in terms of investigations of these three cases is that the suspects of Ansar-ul-Sharia are behind these attacks and they have been supported by Jamat-ul-Ahrar and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi Al-Almi” an senior investigative officer told Daily Times.

it is a crystal clear fact that Jamat-ul-Ahrar is striving for its separate reorganization from ISIS (Dai’sh) and Al Qaeda and for this it is using LEJ-A and AuS as its upfront groups, he added.

After attacking four police personals in SITE area during Ramadan the terrorists left the pamphlets of Ansar-ul-Sharia behind them and now in the recent event of terrorism which has happened in Korangi Industrial Area in the limits of Awami colony police station which left 3 police personals and one passerby child dead the responsibility of attack has been claimed by LEJ-A.

“This information is not a mystery now but the important thing is that what CTD’s big names have failed to trace out and nab the actual and specific suspects to put them behind the bars”, another officer said.

If the CDT had rounded up the suspects which were involved in the first incident of this year in which terrorists attacked the police mobile in the Bahadurabad area and killed three policemen then the terrorists might not had gathered the courage for the second and third attack. It is permanent to mention that cases of all three incidents were registered with the CTD’s police station.

The murder of three policemen in Karachi on Friday was the third consecutive attack on law enforcers in 2017, but, unfortunately, investigators probing these attacks have yet to nab the group or groups behind the incidents.

In the initial report prepared by police investigators, policemen, in their van, arrived at the scene to check a truck that was involved in an accident when the terrorists attacked them.

The DSP and SHO of the Awami Colony police station were suspended by the Karachi AIG in relation to the incident.

CTD believes that ‘sleeper cells’ of different militant outfits have been activated in Karachi, particularly to target policemen.
