The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Department of Youth Affairs on Friday signed agreement with Bank of Khyber (BoK) and Akhut Microfinance Bank (AMB) for provision of interest free loans to youth under Ehsaas program.
In this regard, a ceremony was held at the Chief Minister House here in which the Chief Minister launched the online portal.
According to a press release issued by the CM Secretariat, the three billion rupees Ehsaas Youth Program was a three-year project.
This program consisted of two phases, it said adding that one billion and ten crore rupees had been allocated in the current budget for the first phase.
Under the program, Rs one million to Rs five million interest-free loans would be given to clusters of three to five youth between the ages of 18 and 35 which would be repaid under a flexible schedule of eight years.
The second phase of the program would be launched in collaboration with Akhut Microfinance Bank, which would cost Rs two billion.
Under this program, people aged between 18 to 40 years could apply for Interest-free loans ranging from one lac to five lac rupees for small-scale businesses.
