ISLAMABAD: In an attempt to provide overseas Pakistanis an opportunity to be a part of Pakistan Super League (PSL) action, the winners of PSL second’s season, Peshawar Zalmi, has announced to expand its Zalmi Global League to 15 countries. With the expansion, top players will be getting an opportunity to train alongside Zalmi.
“PSL champions proudly announce Global Zalmi League, to be held before PSL 3 next year,” said a spokesman of Peshawar Zalmi franchise. “This event will not only give an international platform to Global Zalmi teams, but following the vision of Global Zalmi, our cricket development program for overseas Pakistani talent also comes with an incentive to getting a chance to play and practice along Peshawar Zalmi Team if performance is up to the mark,” he added. Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi told a TV channel that the idea was to bring oversea Pakistanis under the PSL net by providing them a opportunity. “This will not only provide oversea Pakistanis who are passionate about cricket to showcase their talent, but will also help them become ambassadors of Pakistan cricket in their respective countries,” said Javed. “Top players of Global Zlami teams will get a chance to bowl and bat with the likes of Darren Sammy, Mohammad Hafeez and many other Zalmi stars,” he said.
