Students from the Law Department of Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) recently visited the Anti-Corruption Headquarters, where they were warmly welcomed by Punjab’s Director General of Anti-Corruption, Sohail Zafar Chattha. During the visit, Sohail Zafar Chattha provided an in-depth briefing on the challenges facing the Anti-Corruption Department and outlined future strategies to address them.

Sohail Zafar Chattha emphasized the department’s commitment to eliminating corruption, promoting transparency, and upholding merit without any political interference. He stressed that the department is steadfast in its mission to ensure the rule of law, aiming to foster integrity in public welfare projects for the benefit of underprivileged communities.

“Ensuring transparency and merit is crucial in public welfare initiatives, allowing us to prioritize solutions for the challenges faced by marginalized groups. Providing swift justice to society’s vulnerable sectors is a means of restoring their trust and addressing their grievances through merit-based transparency,” he said.

Sohail Zafar Chattha also highlighted the importance of public support in the fight against corruption, noting that lasting change can be achieved when accountability institutions and academic bodies work together. He urged the students to uphold principles of law and justice and play an active role in social welfare.

The LUMS students appreciated the Anti-Corruption Department’s efforts and reiterated their commitment to support ongoing anti-corruption initiatives.
