Ryan Reynolds claps back at Martha calling him ‘not so funny’

Ryan Reynolds is laughing off Martha Stewart’s comments about him. After the media mogul said that the Deadpoolactor is “not so funny in real life,” he clapped back on social media-with a joke.

“I’d disagree with her,” Ryan, 48, wrote on X Nov. 1, formerly Twitter, about the 83-year-old. “But I tried that once. The woman is unexpectedly spry. She really closed the gap after a mile or so.” Martha had made her comments about the Van Wilder star on Bilt Rewards’ Rent Free game showafter she was asked which celebrities she thought participants determined to be the most fun to hang out with.

“He’s probably on the list just ’cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face. Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” she said. “And you want to know something? He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”

Martha then doubled down and provided her own ranking of celebs who are most fun to hang out with, after learning that respondents did in fact list Ryan, along with Taylor Swift and the lifestyle guru’s longtime friend Snoop Dogg.

“Taylor, and then I would do Snoop, and then I would take Ryan off it,” she said, “and I would put in, uh, somebody else.”

She said she would replace Ryan on the list with George Clooney, adding, “Because he’s fun. George is really nice to hang out with.” Martha also noted that Ryan is a “good actor” who can “act funny.”

“But he isn’t funny,” she said. “Maybe he can get to be funny again.” The TV personality added, “I’m going to get in trouble. He’s my neighbor.” Martha has lived near Ryan and wife Blake Lively, parents of four, for years near Bedford, New York.

“I love it when Blake Lively comes over to my house,” Martha said in a 2014 interview with the Gossip Girl alum posted on her YouTube page. “You haven’t been over for a while, but you came for Easter and we had such a good time and so did your nieces and nephews and it was very fun to have you, and Ryan.” Blake said that Martha had told Ryan she would ride motorcycles with him, joking, “That’s the only woman that could creep up on my man, that I would be okay with.” Ryan and Blake have both showcased their senses of humor over the years by playfully trolling each other online.
