Swedish envoy, CM explore avenues of cooperation

Swedish Ambassador to Pakistan Alexandra Berg von Linde called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif here on Tuesday.

The meeting explored avenues for strengthening bilateral relations. The discussions focused on potential collaboration in various sectors, including education, health, IT, agriculture, trade, and environmental sustainability, with an emphasis on creating a conducive investment climate in Punjab.

CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized a strong focus on agriculture and support for farmers, stating, “There is a favorable environment for investment in Punjab.” She assured investors that they can invest in the province without fear of risk.

The Swedish ambassador commended the Punjab government’s initiatives to protect minority and women’s rights, noting that recent investor-friendly measures are commendable. She indicated that Swedish investors are eager to explore opportunities in Punjab.

Honorary Consul General of Sweden, Syed Haider Ali, and other officials were also present at the meeting.

Separately, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has extended her heartfelt congratulations to the people of Turkiye on their Republic Day.

In her message on Tuesday, she expressed her sincere prayers for the development and prosperity of the Turkish nation, emphasizing, “We share in their joy on this significant occasion.”

CM Maryam Nawaz highlighted the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and Turkiye, stating, “Our relationship is founded on fraternity and brotherhood, transcending mere diplomatic relations to embody the bonds of two great nations.”

The CM praised Turkiye’s achievements under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, noting the country’s significant milestones in development. She remarked on the strengthening cultural, commercial, and tourism connections that continue to bring the peoples of both nations closer together.

The CM expressed her hope that the relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye remains strong and enduring.
