LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that Nawaz Sharif was out not only because of corruption but also because of his style of governance and arrogance that earned him Allah’s wrath on Sunday.

Addressing the Leadership training programme on the JI Punjab, he said that the crackdown on the mosques and madaris, the ulema and religious scholar, the execution of Mumtaz Qadri, protection of the interest system and corruption, promotion of secular and liberal ideas as against Islam, friendship with Modi instead of extending support to the Kashmiris freedom struggle besides craze for sweeping powers, were the main reason which led to Nawaz Sharif’s downfall.

Meanwhile addressing the Ehtisab rally at Karachi, Liaqat Baloch said that the ruling party was wrongly interpreting the Supreme Court (SC) judgment and added that the court had disqualified Nawaz Sharif after sufficient evidence against him on the charges of money laundering, concealment of assets and the facts.

He said the PML-N had no other option except to accept the judgment. He appreciated the democratic behavior of the PML-N at this crucial stage and said that continuity of the democratic process, independence of the judiciary and the supremacy of the constitution must be ensured.
