LARKANA: Sindh Health Secretary Dr Fazlullah Pechuho has said medical and health professors, associate and assistant professors have been creating serious problems for smooth running of hospitals and they did not want to work under association with concerned medical superintendents. Talking to local journalists, he said that these professors were enjoying official’s benefits but they never deliver their expertise properly for benefit of poor indisposed patients, which was condemnable act. Dr Pechuho also visited accident and emergency centre, Shaikh Zayed Hospital for Women and other departments where he expressed his resentment over non-cleanliness. Pechuho said if these post-graduate doctors would not improve their performances they would be confined to teaching colleges. He directed medics and paramedics to work tirelessly for betterment of ailing populace for which they have been appointed and being paid by government. He said Paeds Emergency Centre would be established in Larkana on pattern of Karachi where doctors of Larkana will be trained with providing lodging and boarding facilities. He said chief executive officers would be appointed in government hospitals for proper monitoring on order to improve performance. He said nurses would be appointed in BPS-14 otherwise it would take time to recruit them through Sindh Public Service Commission in BPS-16 or 17. He said recently recruited doctors would serve in rural areas where they have been posted for three years and if they refused or remained absent then their services would be terminated without any notice.
