LAHORE: A petition was moved in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC), Lahore Registry on Tuesday, seeking the inclusion of members of the Sharif family’s names in the Exit Control List (ECL).
Syed Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, a citizen, has moved the petition. The petitioner has requested the court to direct the Interior Ministry to put the names of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his children Husain, Hassan, Maryam, Capt (r) Muhammad Safdar and Ishaq Dar’s names on the ECL.
The petitioner stated that Nawaz Sharif had been disqualified and the SC had also ordered a reference against him. He said that the accused could leave the country to avoid facing the corruption references.
He also stated that bank accounts of the whole Sharif family should immediately be frozen and the money should be deposited into the national exchequer.
