China extends warm greetings to Khaqan Abbasi

BEIJING: China has extended warm greetings to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on taking over as new Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Commenting on his election and swearing in as the country’s new Prime Minister, a spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Geng Shuang said on Wednesday, the Chinese side extends warm congratulations to Mr. Abbasi on assuming the post of Prime Minister of Pakistan.

We believe that under the leadership of Prime Minister Abbasi, the Pakistani government will stay committed to maintaining national unity and stability and promoting economic and social development.

China stands ready to work with Pakistan to maintain the momentum of the rapid growth of China-Pakistan relations, advance the development of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and move forward the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.”

Meanwhile, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong also congratulated Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on his election as Prime Minister. According to the Chinese embassy, the ambassador conveyed him his warm greetings through a tweet message.
