GUJRANWALA: A woman on Friday put her ailing five-year-old grandson up for sale because the family could not afford his treatment owing to poverty. Zubaida, while talking to the media at the DHQ Hospital, said that her son Saleem (father of the said child) was a disabled person and her daughter-in-law had passed away two years ago. She said that her grandson had been suffering from fever for the last five days, but she or the family had no money to get the medicines for the child. The elderly woman said that she had no option but to put her grandson up for sale in order to save his life, hoping that the buyer would get him treated – and the family would also get some money for food.
