Rangers, SED to celebrate Independence special festival 2017

KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh, and the provincial Special Education Department have planned to celebrate Independence Special Festival 2017 jointly.

The festival will be celebrated at Quad-e-Azam Rangers Special Children School located near Tools Plaza Super Highway Karachi on August 10 and will be continue till 3 PM on the same day. The arrangers of the festival of both sides have also been invited, all special children across the province will mark the Independence Day.

In this connection, around 50 Non Government Organizations have also been asked for to the festival while most of them have accepted the incitement to participate in the event. “We are going to give awareness to the special children about independence and as well to highlight the importance of the August 14, 1947”, said Dr Zulfiqar Ali Shalwani Sectary Special Education Department while addressing a media briefing regarding logo-launching ceremony of the festival at Sindh Secretariat.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah will inaugurate the festival for the special children which is being organized by the department with the collaboration of Sindh Ragers. “On 14th August, there would be many programs which would be taking place across the city so the officials of the department decided to celebrate the festival on 10th August”, he added.

“It’s not unusual for Sindh Rangers to commemorate Independence Day with other government departments jointly”, said Major Ali, added that Pakistan Rangers is very conscious regarding special children therefore Quad-e-Azam Rangers Special Children School was set up in 2011 to educated disabled children.

“We represent Pakistan and believe that every citizen is a patriot and loyalist to the Pakistan’s soil including disabled persons whereas all those people will be welcomed who believe in patriotism”, he added, that logos are meant for vision and Pakistan Ranger’s vision is only about Pakistanism under which they are going to celebrate Independence Day with special children.

“We have enrolled around 200 special children in Quad-e-Azam Rangers Special Children School to make them able, responsible and educate” said Zahida Jalees, Principal of the schools, added Pakistan Rangers run the only school for special children in Sindh for which management of the school have hired well experienced faculties for teaching, physicians for the health care of special children and have also provided all faculties at school.

“Government of Sindh is concerned about special children and disabled-persons because they can play an active role in developing society instead of depending on someone, said Zakia Elahi, Deputy Director of Government Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment for Disabled-Persons (GVREDP).

It is pertinent to mention here that Sindh government has recently increased the government employment quota for up to 5 percent for the disabled persons on Monday this week.
