District bar boycotts courts

UMERKOT: Chief Justice Sindh High Court, Ahmed Ali Shaikh has suspended Akbar Ali Rahimoo, Superintendent District Court Umerkot and assured the Sindh Bar Council delegation who met him for initiating an impartial inquiry into the matter against involved persons in humiliating and torturing a hospital lady staff in the court premises.

Poonjo Mal Bheel President District Bar Umerkot told journalists that on call of the Sindh Bar Council, lawyers of the district would boycott court proceedings today.

He said that the judge has assured them of justice to the affected women.

Dr Hemji husband of effected Dr Kiran prayed to the Sindh High Court for a fair inquiry.

Ex-Joint Secretary District Bar Umerkot Advocate Shareef Bheel, an eyewitness of the incident informed journalists that the lady constable Shahnaz Shaikh slapped Tejhan and Dr Kiran and her husband was dragged out of courtroom of the District Court.
