LAHORE: Tasleem Kanwal, wife of MPA Faizan Khalid, has claimed that her husband brutally tortured her after she found out that he was talking to another girl over the phone.

Faizan has denied all allegations.

According to details, Tasleem Kanwal became an alleged victim of domestic violence on Friday night after she exchanged hard words with her husband when she found out that her husband was talking to another girl over the phone.

The proofs available with Daily Times revealed that she got multiple injuries on her back, hand and leg. According to reliable sources, Faizan allegedly dragged her wife down the street and escaped away.

After this incident, she rushed to the National Hospital and Medical Centre in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) to get medical treatment and the medico-legal report but the hospital administration refused her, saying they have not right to issue the medico-legal report.

She also made a call to police helpline 15 but police did not respond to her complaint effectively.

Later, she approached the Lahore General Hospital the same night where she was admitted to the Emergency Ward. She once again tried to get the medico-legal report but the hospital administration denied issuing the report, saying the Services Hospital has the authority to issue the medico-legal report.

However, on duty doctor Ume-e-Fatima had stated on the admission slip of Tasleem that the victim bears multiple bruises on her arms and knee and left foot.

Faizan is an agriculturist and a businessman, who was elected as a member of the provincial assembly in 2013 general election from Sheikhupura.

Talking to Daily Times, Tasleem said she was brutally beaten up by her husband.

Sources said that Tasleem had married Faizan out of love but the couple had been living apart for the last eight to nine months.

When contacted, Faizan denied all allegations and said that she had divorced Tasleem.

When contacted again, he changed his stance and said that he had not divorced Tasleem, but denied all allegations.

Tasleem had also submitted an application with the Defence B Police Station. The duty officer at the police station, when contacted, said that they were waiting for a final medico-legal report.

Sources added that the police had succeeded to get the medico-legal report from the Services Hospital and started efforts for reconciliation between the two parties.
