16 Sasta Bazaars to be set up in Rawalpindi during Ramzan

RAWALPINDI: The city district government has approved the establishment of 16 Sasta and five Ramadan Bazaar for making sure the availability of quality kitchen items at subsidized price to citizens during the holy month of Ramadan.

The approval of the Ramadan, Sasta Bazaars has been given during a meeting at DC Talat Mehmood Gondal’s office.

The Ramadan and Sasta Bazaars will start functioning from 24 of May where Fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, soft drinks, flour, sugar, pulses and other commodities will be available at subsidized price.

The DC Talat Mehmood Gondal has also advised the authorities to make available other facilities like shopping trolleys, tents, chairs, wheel chairs for the handicapped and set up a medical camp. He has given directions to the WAPDA authorities to make sure uninterrupted electricity supply in the Ramadan and Sasta Bazaars during the holy month.

Stern action will be taken against those who are found selling commodities at higher rate to   customers than fixed rates. Whereas the violators shall be fined and their stalls shall be suspended” said Talat Mehmood Gondal.

Rate lists shall be displayed at every stall to ensure availability of commodities at the decided rates, the officers of concerned departments will visit regularly the stalls to keep an eye on the matters.
