Lahore: Several images of certificates and declarations endorsed by Rawalpindi police and signed by residents of areas along the rally route also remained a topic of discussion at Twitter on Wednesday.

The images posted by Activist Waqqas Goraya showed declarations signed by hotel and resturant owners that they would keep their premises closed on August 9 (today) as part of the security plan for the rally. Another notice warned the general public to keep their businesses closed till 6pm on August 9 on account of security arrangements for the rally. Columnist Marvi Sirmed reacted to the images tweeting, “Isn’t Punjab police under @CMShehbaz? Why is he doing it? And if he’s not doing it, why is he not stopping it?” No response came from the provincial government over the matter till the filing of the report.
