Witnesses record their statements in abuse case

UMERKOT: Dr Kiran, staff nurse Tejhan, lady police officials, eye witnesses and medical superintendent District Head Quarter Hospital Umerkot appeared before Additional District Judge Umerkot and recorded their respective statements in case of humiliation of Dr Kiran and lady nurse at the hands of superintendent court and lady police officials.

Additional District Judge Naveed Hussain Kolachi was probing matter of humiliation of Dr Kiran and Tejhan by court staff and police in the courtroom of district and session judge on August 3.

Akbar Ali Rahimoo superintendent court requested the head of inquiry committee that he was not felling well and cannot appear left for home.

Tarique Ranghar gunman to civil judge Ali Hassan Mari also did not appear before inquiry committee.

Dr Kiran Hemji and Tejhan while talking to journalists narrated August 3 humiliation incident that how they were picked up by police to court and torturing at the hands of court staff and lady police.

Lawyers Parshotam Khatri, Sharif Bheel and Ayaz Jokhio stated that entire act of torture and humiliation taken place in their presence. Both victims were compelled to sign an affidavit of an apology and they both signed it. Dr Moiz Ali Shah and MS Dr Jam Kunbhar were also present at the time of incident.

Dr Moiz Ali Shah said that he was called by District and Session Judge Umerkot and was informed that health staff has refused to treat kid of civil judge.

On reaching court, he heard screaming in courtroom and left to check second senior civil judge Muhammad Ayub Bhatti.

Court staff including Sikandar Khoso, Haq Nawaz, Umer Maher, Saroop, Hassan Abbas stated that they heard that Akbar Ali Rahimoo was shouting in courtroom over Dr Kiran and Tejhan.

Jhaman Bajeer a data coder filed a written reply to ADJ that he along with another technical person has checked that data of close circuit cameras on the day of incident was destroyed and missing. He said that cameras data box was in corridor, where anyone can destroy it.

The statement of District and Session Judge Nasir ud Din Shah was also recorded which he later shared with journalist in written version that on August 3, at around 1pmcivil judge Ali Hassan Mari requested him that his daughter has not been treated by hospital staff, therefore he is taking his kid to Hyderabad for treatment. He called DHO and MS Dr Jam Kunbhar at his office and asked them reason. Later he went for prayer and then went to home on Maghrib prayer. SSP Umerkot Usman Bajwa called him and informed about incident. He called Akbar Ali Rahimoo and asked him about the incident, who told him that he just spoke loudly to them but nothing happened, later he also asked other court staff who also denied the incident, adding that no one from health department or victims approached and informed him about the incident.

On second day of incident he sent an explanation to office superintendent, but his reply was unsatisfactory and he suspended him and transfer to Pithoro.
