Three ‘robbers’ killed in police encounter

KARACHI: The Police have killed three alleged robbers during an encounter in Shah Latif town area of the city in the wee hours of Saturday.

According to rescue sources, a gang of three robbers Naeem, aged 28, Ghulam Abbas, 26 and Nadeem Bukhari, 30, were looting people at gunpoint in Shah Shah Latif town. On receiving information, the police team conducted a raid in the area. Sighting police, the robbers opened fire on them which was retaliated by the police.

During shootout for some time, the robbers suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot. The police also recovered weapons, bullets, and motorbikes from the spot. According to SSP Malir Rao Anwar, these criminals were involved in target killing and bank robbery. The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical for medico-legal formalities.

On other hand, a man was shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of the metropolis. According to rescue sources, armed men opened fire at a 22-year-old man, Inayat Rasool, son of Noor Gul, in Gulistan-e-Jauhar’s Block-9.
