Karachi: The Sessions Judge South has issued arrest warrants of Farah Naz Asfahani former member of National Assembly from PPP and Nadia Gabol , PPP, former member of provincial assembly in dual nationality case.
According to media reports, the court took up the dual nationality case for hearing on Saturday.
During the course of hearing, Counsel for Farah Naz took the plea that Naz is out of country for medical treatment therefore she should be given exemption from presence in court.
Prosecutor, Election Commission of Pakistan, Maimoona Advocate opposed the plea that delaying tactics are being used by both of these ladies therefore court should order they be arrested and presented before it.
Upon it the court has issued arrest warrants of both of former parliamentarians.
It is vital to mention here that Farah Naz is the wife of former ambassador Hussain Haqqani and she was elected member national assembly from Sindh in 2008 on reserved seat.
Supreme Court had suspended her NA membership for holding dual nationality in 2012.
On the other hand, Nadia Gabol belongs to Lyari Karachi and she later joined MQM in 2006 after that she was elected Member Sindh Assembly from PS 109 during elections of 2008.
She had also remained the provincial minister for human rights. In October 2013, she joined PPP. Nadia Gabol is the close relative of noted politician Nabeel Gabol.
