WCLA launches ‘Azadi Tours’

LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) on Saturday launched a new type of tourism “Azadi Tours” in connection with 70th Independence Day. These tours are starting from Delhi Gate and ending at Lahore Fort.

The route has many attractions like Shahi Hammam, Wazir Khan Mosque, Haveli Mian Sultan, Haveli Dina Nath and Bej Nath, Well of Dina Nath, Wazir Khan Chowk, Sonehri Mosque, Baoli Bagh, Rang Mehal Chowk, Tomb of Malik Ayyaz, Pani Wala Talab, Lahnga Mandi, Chowk Heera Mandi and Lahore Fort. Almost 600 tourists availed this tour on the first day. These specially designed tours are till 14th August. The tourist guides trained by the WCLA would narrate the stories and tales of the independence and incidents and activities that took place inside the Walled City of Lahore. Several families and students of different universities and colleges attended the tour.

WCLA Director General Kamran Lashari said that Walled City was full of stories and many happenings of the Pakistan Movement, and independence took place right here in the Walled City.
