Shikarpur and Jacobabad mark I Day

SHIKARPUR: 70th Independence Day was celebrated at Shikarpur and Jacobabad. Celebrations were held to mark the day at public, private, religious parties offices, schools, colleges and at open places.

The main function was held at Deputy Commissioner Office and office of Senior Superintendent of Police Shikarpur. National flag hoisting ceremonies were held and national anthem was played. DC Shikarpur said Pakistan has been facing poverty, unemployment and terrorism for long hence people should keep positive thinking to reduce such problems while praising efforts of students he said they have great talent and hoped would play their role towards development of the country after completing their education.

SSP Shikarpur highlighting leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah said that after great sacrifices we got freedom and now its our prime responsibility to play role for its prosperity and development. He vowed to root out anti social elements, criminals and terrorist activities. Flag hoisting ceremonies were held at divisional scout office, government schools, C&S Degree College while cake cutting event was organised by Pakistan People Party Shikarpur chapter at Bhayo House.
