Save Quetta

Author: Daily Times

Sir: Quetta (once) a little pairs and now the city of brutal terrorist attacks. There have been number of target killing in Quetta and more often than not victims are poor citizens. Terrorism is the cruellest of crimes which kills less criminals but more innocent citizens.

The several innocent people demise from a suicide attack in Quetta once again raise questions over the performance of the security agencies.

There are no words to describe the situation that I witnessed as everyone shaded with blood and asking for help. No one looks safe in the country from the day and day out bomb blasts.

Quetta, recent blast at least 15 people, among them eight soldiers, were martyred and 40 others wounded when a suicide bomber targeted a military truck near the Pishin Bus-stop on Saturday night, officials said.

A man riding a motorbike came close to the army truck and blew himself up, said a senior official of the Bomb Disposal Squad told media.

Anyhow, a statement of the Pakistan Army said that the explosion targeted an on-duty vehicle and set several other vehicles on fire.

Meanwhile, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Qamar Javed Bajwa and former PM Nawaz Sharif condemned the attack.

However, the brutal acts of terrorism are taking place day by day in this city. It is common to such extent that the majority of us came to accept such activates as fact of life. Hundreds and thousands civilians have been killed. Considerable numbers of innocent men have laid their lives till now. Amazingly, no place in Pakistan remained safe and sound from the vicious acts of terrorists.

Finally, the government needs to root out anti-terrorism and bring peace in the country and as well the scholars have got a huge role to play not to stay calm and speak against the menace of suicide blasts, the media also should play its role for rooting out terrorism.
