KHYBER AGENCY: A 24-year-old man died of Congo fever at a private hospital in Peshawar, administration and local sources said Wednesday.
According to details, Waheedullah Afridi, a resident of Arsala Khan village of Jamrud tehsil, was taken to a nearby health centre after complaints of constant fever where he was diagnosed with Congo fever. He was admitted to a private hospital in Peshawar where he breathed his last. Afridi’s death created panic in the area and dwellers asked the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to curb the virus. They demanded public awareness regarding the transmission and treatment of Congo fever.
