LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreeke Insaf (PTI) leader Dr Yasmin Rashid appeared before Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for inspection of her nomination papers for NA-120 by-elections on Thursday.
According to sources, the PTI leader has gained approval of ECP with regards to her submission and the commission has also dismissed reservations against Dr Yasmin’s nomination.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nominee and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife Kulsoom Nawaz has left for London pertaining a medical checkup despite ECP’s directive to summon at 3 pm.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) nominee Faisal Mir is expected to appear before the commission at 2 pm.
The NA-120 seat fell vacant as a result of Nawaz Sharif’s ousting from premiership by Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on July 28.
The polling in the constituency will be held on September 17.
