‘Larkana failed to produce another Bhutto’

LARKANA: Vice Chancellor Sindh University, Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat has lamented that Larkana has not so far produced any leader of the international caliber like persons of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto family.

Addressing a joint meeting of Sindh University and Benazir Bhutto Medical University Dr Burfat said we need to improve education standard from primary level. He said that educational institutions were the last hope and urged youth to keep universities away from politics so that they could get better education.

It is an era of competition and youth of Larkana are coming out with flying colours in competitive examinations but we have failed to produce international leaders. He informed an accord would be inked between two varsities, under which they would provide required facilities in health management, biochemistry and other fields to those doctors who wanted to get PHD degrees. Both universities will also introduce online course for learning Chinese language to support China Pakistan Economic Corridor. Both universities agreed to start courses which will benefit community to have a respectful earning/employment. Prof Asghar Channa informed the meeting that new courses were being introduced under Benazir Youth Development Programme for which Rs 56 million have been earmarked.

Dr Burfat visited new BBMU campus along with delegation members. Prof Noor Muhammad Jamali, BISE Chairman Ahmed Ali Brohi, Dr Akbar Bhutto, Prof Hakim Ali Abro, Dr Waheed Memon, Prof K Das, Dr Afsar Bhutto, Prof Murtaza Pathan and others participated in the meeting.
