The Children’s Ward of Sahiwal Teaching Hospital caught fire on Saturday due to short-circuit. Five vehicles of the Fire Brigade department were busy extinguishing the blaze till last reports came in.
Given the intensity of the fire, people were evacuated from the ward. On the other hand, police in Pattoki arrested three members of a gang of dacoits besides recovering over Rs500,000, two motorcycles and weapons from them which they had snatched from the people. Police said those arrested were Muneer, Asif and Rizwan, and were involved in several incidents of dacoity and robbery. The Force said the suspects were being interrogated.
